At Direct Pack, we’re proud to collaborate with partners who share our vision for a more sustainable future. One of our recent partnerships with Re.Source, a sub-brand of Gordon Food Service, showed their dedication to delivering packaging solutions that align with their sustainability promise to customers.

Re.Source is committed to providing packaging with both beginning-of-life and end-of-life sustainability claims—ensuring that their containers are made with either recyclable, compostable or renewable after use. Through working with our in-house design and engineering team, these blue hinged containers have become a perfect example of this commitment came to life.

A Purposeful Color Choice

The vibrant blue color of the container is more than just eye-catching—it carries a message. Blue is widely recognized as the color of recycling bins across many regions. By choosing this color, Re.Source signals the recyclable nature of the container and reflects the use of 50% post-consumer recycled PET in its production. When consumers place the container in the recycling bin after use, it enters a responsible recycling stream—collected by material recovery facilities, processed by reclaimers, and transformed once again into new food packaging. This is PET circularity in action.

A Custom Solution for a Unique Brand:

Re.Source approached Direct Pack with a clear goal: to find a packaging solution that reflects their brand identity and fulfills their sustainability promise. Our vertically integrated model and global manufacturing platform enabled us to move quickly and efficiently, designing a custom container that includes:

  • Their signature brand blue
  • A custom-embossed lid featuring the Re.Source logo with in-house tooling capability
  • A consistent supply of high-quality recycled PET to ensure every container maintains the 50% recycled content standard

This collaboration reflects the best of what we do at Direct Pack is to work hand-in-hand with customer partners to create packaging solutions that not only perform but also represent shared values.

We’re honored to be part of Re.Source’s sustainability journey and look forward to continuing our work together to close the loop on PET packaging.
